Delivery Driver - Mississauga Canada

Province-Electric is a full-line, service-oriented, electrical distributor. We are currently hiring a driver for our Mississauga location. The role of the Delivery Driver plays an important part in the success of our business and is the final step in making sure we fulfill our orders accurately and on time. As the Delivery Driver, you are responsible for providing courteous, efficient, and reliable delivery of goods to our customers. You understand that you are the first direct contact with our customers. You also understand that they count on you to deliver the merchandise that they need.

On a day to day basis, you are responsible for completing the shipping process, whether it’s from branch to branch, or branch to customer. You might assist in the picking of goods and packing them for delivery to customers. You are well-organized with your delivery route, and you are a conscientious driver with a clean record. Your day starts early from your home branch, typically 6:45, but some flexibility is required from time to time. This is a full-time, permanent position, straight days, M-F.

Responsibilities:

Deliver customer orders to destination, obtain signatures.
Picks up materials at specified locations, sign for goods.
Collect payments for goods delivered.
Maintain delivery log.
Responsible for inspecting truck for oil, tires, brakes, lights, gas, and reporting of any mechanical requirements.
Assist in order- picking to compile orders in a timely fashion so that they are ready for you to deliver.
Loading and unloading vehicle.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Exceptional time management skills, and self-motivated.
Must have excellent working relations with customers by maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
Operating the delivery vehicle safely and following all traffic laws and regulations.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must have grade 12 or GED equivalent
Must have a valid driver’s license – Class G with a clean driving abstract (to be provided)
Must be insurable, drivers abstract needs to provided prior to hiring.
